Bechtel Street, Monaca PA, update…
Getting the best team of contractors in the area to remodel your home before it hits the market, in order to add massive value far and above the cost of services, and not having the pay until the property is sold…. does it get any better for sellers?!!! The answer is no, it does not.
This week Bechtel revealed to us the nature of its age. That is, we discovered some not so pleasant wiring in the kitchen after doing demo, and made the decision rewire the entire kitchen. Also, after pulling up carpet and layers of old laminate flooring, we realized that the tile underneath it all had to be removed as well, in order to get down to a healthy subfloor to install at the new floating floor. Unfortunately, this tile did not come up easily, as in it was a solid 12 hours of labor to chipping it off bit by bit.
All in all the remodel is going well. The kitchen is small and we juggled with a few different layout options. I felt strongly that we had to get a pantry in the kitchen so we nixed the first layout plan and played with a few more. Thankfully we have a great layout for the kitchen and the cabinets are now onsite.
One of my contractors, Tim, used to be a cabinet maker and he is the one that puts the cabinets together to ensure that enough screws, staples and glue are used. In other words, we don’t trust companies to assemble them for us.
